Protein is Cash Workshops

What are Protein is Cash Workshops?

Protein is Cash (PiC) workshops are annual professional development workshops for high school teachers. PiC introduces the concepts of biotechnology and biomanufacturing and provides hands-on training for teachers to learn the necessary laboratory skills. Over the course of a week, teachers hear lectures from workshops leaders and guest speakers from industry about topics in biomanufacturing. The topics covered in the lectures are put into practice in a series of laboratory experiments. Teachers also have the opportunity to tour a local biomanufacturing facility and learn about strategies to incorporate the lectures and laboratory activities into the high school curriculum.
