IB SME Meeting
The IB SME meeting will develop an industry skill standard for educating and training biotechnicians to support Industrial Biotechnology development, production and analysis. To do this the National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education Biomanufacturing Center, the NBC2, is bringing together industrial biotechnology subject matter experts from around the nation. The NBC2 plans to overlay its earlier skill standard for Biopharmaceutical development, production and analysis with the newly developed Industrial Biotechnology skill standard. Commonalities will emerge that can help drive the development of multipurpose biomanufacturing education and training facilities to support the local production and analysis of bioproducts and the growth of the bioeconomy.
