The five-day workshop is designed to provide high school teachers with a basic introduction to the biomanufacturing process and includes hands-on biotechnology lab activities and biotechnology/ manufacturing industry information that can be introduced into high school curricula. Lab activities include: transforming cells with foreign genes, protein production and protein purification techniques. Each teacher is also supported with a $55 per day stipend and a laboratory manual for the lab exercises.
